This week, the city of Trondheim hosted the physical kick-off meeting of the ClimaGen project, bringing together representatives from 9 European cities and a wide network of partners committed to climate adaptation, co-creation, and urban transformation.
Over the course of three dynamic days, participants explored how cities can drive forward climate resilience through inclusive processes, arts and culture, and stakeholder engagement.
š Highlights included:
Site visits to Nyhavna and Lademoen, where we explored Trondheimās approach to green transformation, culture, and citizen engagement;
Interactive workshops on stakeholder engagement, ClimaLab design, and impact modelling;
A rich exchange of ideas during a poster expo, connecting city visions and partner expertise;
Deep dives into themes like youth engagement, diversity and inclusion, and investment models for climate innovation;
And of course ā energizing cultural experiences and plenty of space to mingle and connect!
Weāre excited to take these insights forward as we work across 5 Demonstration Cities (Trondheim, Belgrade, GdaÅsk, Tartu and Torino) and 4 Replication Cities (Cluj-Napoca, Eindhoven, Gernika and Thessaloniki) to shape more resilient, adaptive, and joyful urban futures š±
Huge thanks to our hosts at Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU), Trondheim kommune, and all the WP9 partners for the warm welcome and incredible program!
